league of conservation voters 08

The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) is the political voice for the environment in the United States, advocating for sound environmental policies and helping elect pro-environmental candidates who will adopt and implement these policies.

During the U.S. Presidential primary season, LCV was concerned the media was ignoring global warming as a top concern. Element created a petition microsite and media campaign called "What Are They Waiting For?" to influence leading media outlets into asking tough questions of the candidates about their plans on the issue.  More than 230,000 people signed LCV's petition, netting a 200% increase in global warming questions from the top journalists in 2008.  Element later won a Pollie award for the online video in the Grassroots, Issue Advocacy, and Public Affairs category.

In the 2006 election cycle, LCV also partnered with Element to target competitive races across the country and conduct print, radio, TV and online advertising campaigns to help elect pro-environment candidates in Michigan, Montana, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia and Washington.
